Our Award-Winning eCommerce SEO Process

We give away all (well, most) of our secrets just so you can see how good we are at making you money.

Phase 1 – The Strategic Planning Phase – We work with you to identify and organize products that have the highest potential for success in an organic search campaign. Next, we research keywords that accurately represent each of our target products and arrange them into primary and secondary initiatives based on keyword difficulty and search volume. We continue by implementing our 6, 12, 24, or 36-month (depending on the length of the engagement) plan into our project management system, PixelCutLabs Projects™, which is specifically tailored for efficient and thorough eCommerce SEO campaign delivery.

Phase 2 – Technical Assessment – In the second phase of an SEO campaign for your online store, we conduct a manual analysis of the existing CMS (content management system) and associated shop management platform (examples include Shopify and WooCommerce) to uncover any technical limitations that may impair or delay our progress if not addressed at the beginning of the engagement. Common concerns that surface in this phase includes duplicate tracking codes, slow load speed, page errors, and various other content management technical limitations. We will work with you to fix and mitigate any problematic findings.

Phase 3 – Ongoing eCommerce SEO – After we have implemented technical improvements to avoid search engine penalties, we are ready to move forward with the plan designed in phase 1 of the eCommerce SEO engagement. This plan will typically require that we write new content for your website for both the blog section and independent product pages. If the project scope includes off-site content generation, we will also conduct organic content outreach to earn backlink placements on high-authority websites including Forbes, GoDaddy, Ted, USA Today, NBC, Inc, Harvard.edu, and many more. The combination of both ongoing on-site content generation and organic off-site authority building (also known as linkbuilding) 99 times out of 100 will lead to a steady growth of search engine visibility, website traffic, and ultimately sales.

Phase 4 – Reporting – Our clients receive exclusive access to world-class revenue-based reporting software. Our analytics and reporting framework is so powerful, it earned a section of its own. Scroll down to learn more about PixelCutLabs Analytics™. You won’t be disappointed.

What is my profit per sale?

Your profit per sale is what the customer pays minus what you pay to deliver what the customer ordered. Don’t forget to factor in your material costs, labor, and operational overhead when entering your average profit per sale.

What should I write as my conversion rate?

The average conversion rate for an eCommerce store in all industries combined is 2.35%, according to research conducted by WordStream. The same study reveals that sites in the 75th percentile (the top 25% of all eCommerce sites) boast conversion rates north of 5.3%. If you think you’re in the top 10% of eCommerce stores, however, you’d be seeing a conversion rate of 11.45% or higher.

How many visitors will I get?

It is nearly impossible to accurately predict the exact number of visitors that will be landing on your site every month after 12 successful months of eCommerce SEO services. If you are in a commodity-based industry (think socks, contact lenses, sweaters, etc.), your answer will be much higher than a company that sells microscopes to k-12 educators. This is primarily because the demand is much lower for microscopes than what we see with commodities that everybody needs. The tradeoff, however, is that the commodity market typically has much lower profit per sale when compared to the specialty market, and therefore needs many more sales to cover operational costs. If you think there are a lot of people searching for your product, go for the higher range. If you’re in a specialty market, you may want to estimate somewhere within the 5,000-25,000 monthly visitor range.
